Obolon Wheat beer is made in Kiev, Ukraine in the Obolone district, from which the brewery is also named.
The name-brand is manufactured by Obolo, Ukraine’s largest soft drink manufacturer, founded in 1980. Obolon’s main brewery in Kiev was Europe’s largest single brewery before the war. Obolon has several breweries across Ukraine and the situation of employees varies very much from person to person. In the early stages of the offensive war, when Russian forces tried to take over all Ukrainian soil, all brewery’s offices were closed. After Russian troops withdrew and war focused on eastern parts of Ukraine Obolon was able to launch a brewery operating outside Kiev.
