- Estimated total COâ‚‚ emissions in one year time from 1 Apr 2022 – 31 Mar 2023 is 0,524 tonne, or 1,43 kg in daily basis. COâ‚‚ emission mainly comes from electricity consumption of cooling system and lights. Our retail business is very environmental friendly and the emission level is very low. All commodity prices are higher and expected to
remain so due to the limited carry forward stocks, exporters
with stock are taking advantage of the shortages - Availability of spices conforming to EU regulations,
e.g. pesticide and salmonella free, is more limited and
expensive, some importers resorting to importing non-
compliant goods - Impact of other commodity prices, for example steel
prices have increased the cost of canned goods by over 10%
and packaging has increased by more than 20% - Political unrest in some regions creating additional
uncertainty for the coming months
COVID-19 global pandemic
- Global manpower has decreased, factories and ports
in e.g. India, China, Thailand, and Vietnam working at
reduced capacity (50% capacity is the new normal) - Health authorities around the world are imposing
new hygiene regulations with the cost being rolled into raw
material costs - Vaccinations rolling out but sudden local lockdowns
in affected areas impact supplies with short notice,
e.g. Ho Chi Minh City lockdown affecting cashew prices and
availability - Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu amongst the
worst affected areas in India, impacting pepper, turmeric,
cumin, ginger, garlic and chili prices
